Classical Singing

Singaporean baritone Jeremy Koh first began his vocal studies at the age of 17, at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in 2006. Jeremy studies with Singapore’s premiere tenor, Lim Shieh-Yih. Jeremy is currently teaching Classical Singing and Broadway Singing at Intune Music School.


Jeremy has performed actively in concerts and productions by the NAFA Vocal Department. In 2006, he sung as Gugliemo for a scene production of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte at the Esplanade Concourse. Following that year, he performed in a production of Die Zauberflöte as Papageno with the NAFA orchestra, under the baton of maestro Volker Hartung. Over the past three years, Jeremy has also performed the roles of Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus), Dan Cairo (Carmen), Marcello (La Boheme) and Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) with orchestral accompaniment. Most notably in 2008, Jeremy presented the role of David in a full-length production of Samuel Barber’s chamber opera, A Hand of Bridge.


Described as a young baritone of fluent singing with good diction and well-controlled technique, Jeremy is also a passionate recitalist of the song repertoire. As a frequent performer, he has sung at the Victoria Concert Hall, the Lee Foundation Theatre, the Young Musicians’ Society Auditorium, and the Foon Yew Auditorium. Selected by the Choral Association (Singapore), Jeremy was the youngest among the fourteen vocalists to perform for the inaugural Young Singers’ Concert (2008) series.


A champion of local Singaporean compositions, Jeremy has premiered and recorded several works of composer Terrence Wong including, Tiny Island Nation for voice and string ensemble and Each Life Converges, a poem by Emily Dickinson set to music for baritone and string orchestra.
